Our Approach

Our organization uses both literature and multi sensory experiences to expose children to diversity and to allow them to explore and celebrate their own unique story.

Through our two programs, Stories of Belonging and Voices of Belonging, we are able to reach children in multiple ways, to meet them where they are, and to allow them to apply the information in creative ways to their own life. The Stories of Belonging books bring opportunity for learning and exposure, while the Voices of Belonging workshops bring opportunity for a deeper dive into what “different” looks and feels like, and how children can bring empathy to each situation.

Our belief is that ALL belong, and that includes opportunities to read our books and experience our workshops. Therefore, we work with other organizations who serve marginalized communities to ensure that anyone who desires access to our work, has it. Generation WE provides school age children with literature that represents our many differences. By providing children with stories to explore diversity, we create awareness and plant the seed of understanding and empathy.

We work with artists and authors to create multi sensory experiences that allow children to explore diverse stories in a tangible way. Our workshops are created so that children have an opportunity to not only learn about differences, but to express their own unique voice and story through art, storytelling and creation.
